Lake Kariba Construction was founded by Sipho Ben Mokoena who grew up in Nelspruit. His very first job in construction was working as a daggaboy for Pat Kelly Construction in Sandton. From there he built on his knowledge of the industry and was trained as a bricklayer, plumber and painter. He then joined United Tobacco as a sales representative where he worked for six years before he moved on to SA Breweries, where he worked until September 1996.It was during this period when Mokoena was nominated as the best salesman of the year and was awarded with a trip to Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe. The unforgettable experience of staying in a boathouse on the lake made a lasting impression on him, and when he returned, Lake Kariba Construction was born.Mokoena’s early experience and in-depth training in the building & construction industry has helped him develop his company into a leading service provider to the Mpumalanga business and civil community.Lake Kariba Construction is now a leader in brick work, civil work, property development, plant hire, grass cutting, paving and general supply
